Nassau Bay Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 1964 and federated in 1966.
Since 1964, members of the Nassau Bay Garden Club have volunteered their time and talents to several continuing projects in our City, and have participated in community and local events that support the purpose of our club which is to encourage interest in all phases of home gardening and to promote better horticulture practices, civic beauty, and conservation of natural resources.
Members, neighbors, and guests gather for planned NBGC programs, mark their calendars for workshops, community events, and look forward to scheduled activities near and far including day trips to botanical gardens and historical sites. Purely social gatherings are on the calendar, too. We encourage you to join us for a meeting or event! All garden club activity begins at the local level, in grassroots organizations that provide local communities of gardeners with networking, education and outreach opportunities. Each local club is under the guidance and direction of that states’ president, serving as a liaison to regional directors and national elected and appointed officers. In even numbered years, NBGC hosts a luncheon and style show fundraiser which is widely anticipated and well attended. Funds are used for continuing projects in our City, five garden areas in our City, a Junior Master Gardener Program, Arbor Day celebration, Beautification Day in Nassau Bay, The Brookwood Community Garden Therapy Fund, welcome plants for new neighbors, and the Ann Gay Scholarship. In the odd numbered years we stage a judged flower and horticulture show, or a less structured flower show gathering. NBGC and the City of Nassau Bay have grown and developed together, and we proudly support each other’s objectives.
